‘Battle of the Alamo’: About 135,000 results

‘The Alamo’: About 3,140,000 results

‘Alamo Facts’: About 2,190,000 results

There was the obvious historical location website: http://www.thealamo.org/battle/battle.php

Then there was the freaky, music playing, brightly colored, nobody would ever take them seriously website: http://aries46.tripod.com/alamo.htm (that was bad…)

And then the people who spend WAY too much time: http://www.lone-star.net/mall/texasinfo/alamo-battle.htm (Really?? They called their website “Lone Star”?!?!?)

This one… no category: http://www.sonofthesouth.net/texas/battle-alamo.htm (haha… son of the south.)

Haha. So, I have never gone internet surfing before and my first time was pretty entertaining. I came up with several ridiculous websites; they really made me understand how much people obsess and change history to whatever they want it to be. One thing I noticed pretty constantly was that they all have the same information–and yet it was ALL DIFFERENT! The dates, numbers, time, etc. But they all felt the need to tell us the information… really? Who has that much time to make these sites? And how much would someone have to care about the Alamo to make them? Another consistant aspect was then NOT one of them told the purpose of the battle… the reason why so many people died.

No progress… not yet. Maybe we should make a website and tell people that we were so adamant about keeping slaves that we decided to kill a bunch of people. See what happens.

Ha! The second website is great. I like the final quote…”The independence of Texas was won!” Was it ever really all that dependent or enslaved by Mexico? I feel like Mexico just disapproved of slavery and Texas considered that a stripping of its own independence.
